Intravenous infusion (IV) involves dripping liquid solutions (1 Liter) through a venous intravascular catheter over 20-30 minutes. Medication solutions can often be added to the infusion, including vitamins and mineral. This simple therapy, although very important, is becoming a very popular spa treatment. It has become well-known to physicians who monitor hydration status that most people’s water intake is deficient, and many of the vitamins and minerals in food are insufficient to sustain our metabolic cellular process. This can have a short term symptom effect as well as long term health benefits.
One of the certainties of our lives is the fact our hormone levels will begin to fall drastically in our 40’s and 50’s, and sometimes sooner. Hormones are the “conductor” of our bodies “ orchestra” that keeps all the “instruments” playing in sync. When levels become suboptimal relative to other hormone levels, severe symptoms can develop. The aim is to restore blood levels to that of your younger self where you experienced no symptoms, but much like diet and exercise, not everyone is equal. Patients may experience symptoms at different levels than others, therefore, each plan will be customized for each individual. BHRT is an exact replica of the native hormones and is compounded by a specialized pharmacist we trust. At Orchid, we are fortunate to have partnered with local pharmacist Tracy Dryer of Sterling Pharmacy and she specializes in BHRT.
Semaglutide is a human-based glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist prescribed as an adjunct to a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management in adults with an initial body mass index (BMI) that is considered outside a healthy range. GLP-1 is a hormone that is produced in the small intestine that stimulates insulin secretion and inhibits glucagon secretion thereby lowering blood sugar.
Studies have demonstrated that Semaglutide reduced appetite, improved control of eating, reduced food cravings and improved glycemic control. The greatest weight loss benefits were observed when semaglutide is used with lifestyle changes, such as improved diet and consistent exercise.
